Mother's health heavy on Culpepper's mind
It just hasn't been a good run for ex-Viking quarterback Daunte Culpepper these days.  Perhaps of greater significance than the football stuff is the declining health of the woman who adopted and raised Culpepper as a child, Emma Culpepper.  Football analysis aside, you're in our thoughts and prayers, Daunte.  (Yahoo! Speculation abounds regarding Culpepper's future in Miami

Word is that ex-Viking quarterback Daunte Culpepper will either be traded or released, especially with the Dolphins closing in on a trade for Kansas City's Trent Green.  His bum knee and his $7-million salary are the primary reasons.  (David J. Neal,Miami Herald)

Culpepper to be traded or (more likely) released by Dolphins

Armando Salguero, at the MiamiHerald.com, reports that ex-Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper will in fact be gone as the team tries to finalize a deal for Kansas City's Trent Green.  That said, it now looks like the Vikings got the better end of that deal, even if it was just a second-round pick (Ryan Cook) for Culpepper.

Culpepper now says second surgery required 4-6 months recovery
Alex Marvez, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, has the latest on the former Viking QB's rehab process with the Vikings South (i.e. Dolphins, who now have ex-Vikings Culpepper, Mike Rosenthal, Chris Liwienski and Kelly Campbell on their roster).  Reading between the lines, it would appear that he's on shaky ground in Miami.  Especially with the Dolphins talking seriously about acquiring Trent Green from Kansas City, looking closely at both JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn in the draft, having Cleo Lemon (who was schooled by new coach Cam Cameron in San Diego) in place for now, and the fact that Culpepper is due to make nearly $7 million this season. Culpepper on his way out with Dolphins?
Our favorite ex-Viking QB appears odd man out in Miami where talk continues to circle about the Dolphins acquiring Chiefs' veteran Trent Green.  Culpepper doesn't have a history with head coach Cam Cameron or quarterback coach Terry Shea, and there are questions whether he can run Cameron's complex offense and whether he'd accept being a backup.

Culpepper could be trade bait in Miami
With the Dolphins apparently interested in Kansas City's Trent Green, it's beginning to look more and more like Miami just wants to get ex-Viking QB Daunte Culpepper healthy enought to showcase his talent for a potential trade suitor.  So much for going back home.  (Alex Marvez, Orlando Sentinel)
